Naturally, a few things stuck out in my mind.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The lowest tax bracket has received an increase of federal tax<\/li>\n<li>The potentially abusable Canada Employment Credit<\/li>\n<li>A taxable Universal Child Care Benefit<\/li>\n<li>Textbook credit for post-secondary students that doesn&#8217;t even pay for one textbook<\/li>\n<li>Tax breaks for sports programmes only<\/li>\n<li>Armed border presence?<\/li>\n<li>A GST cut in a booming hot economy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The new government unveiled its 2006 budget today.
