In Sacrament meeting this past Sunday, one of the speakers brought up what Jesus referred to as the second great commandment<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153And the second\u00c2\u00a0is\u00c2\u00a0like unto it, Thou shalt\u00c2\u00a0love\u00c2\u00a0thy neighbour as thyself.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (Matt 22:39).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
He mentioned that the key to loving others is being able to love ourselves first, which is a good point and one I had not seriously considered before.<\/p>\n
If we are too hard on ourselves (don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t like the way we look, or our physical limitations, or lack of abilities), then what does that say about our ability to love others? If we hate ourselves, then does that\u00c2\u00a0mean\u00c2\u00a0our love for others will\u00c2\u00a0mean\u00c2\u00a0too little?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
