Mormon then describes how the following year was\u00c2\u00a0fraught\u00c2\u00a0with members of the church becoming prideful and contentious. In verse 10, we read:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And thus ended the eighth year of the reign of the judges; and the wickedness of the church was a great\u00c2\u00a0stumbling-block to those who did not belong to the church; and thus the church began to fail in its progress.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I wonder what Mormon meant by \u00e2\u20ac\u0153progress\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.
