{"id":1784,"date":"2009-03-10T08:35:39","date_gmt":"2009-03-10T15:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ourthoughts.ca\/?p=1784"},"modified":"2010-08-10T16:51:51","modified_gmt":"2010-08-10T23:51:51","slug":"big-love-to-show-temple-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ourthoughts.ca\/2009\/03\/10\/big-love-to-show-temple-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Love to Show Temple Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Big Love, the HBO drama about a polygamous family living in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City, is rumoured to be airing an episode next week (15 March) that will feature scenes and events from the mainstream LDS Temple ceremony.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We researched it out the wazoo,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says [executive producer Mark] Olsen, who along with executive producer Will Scheffer hired an ex-Mormon consultant to help the set and wardrobe designers re-create even the tiniest details. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We go into the endowment room and the celestial room [areas of the temple], and we present what happens in those ceremonies. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s never been shown on television before,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Olsen. Adds Scheffer, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153But it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not for shock value.
