{"id":132,"date":"2005-04-06T08:29:00","date_gmt":"2005-04-06T14:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ourthoughts.ca\/?p=132"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T07:00:00","slug":"like-unto-the-devil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ourthoughts.ca\/2005\/04\/06\/like-unto-the-devil\/","title":{"rendered":"Like Unto the Devil"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>Going along with yesterday&#8217;s post, in 2 Ne 9:9 Jacob seems to continue?\u00a2\u201a\u00c7\u00a8\u201a\u00c4\u00f9at least in part?\u00a2\u201a\u00c7\u00a8\u201a\u00c4\u00f9the thought of us becoming subject to Satan in the absence of a resurrection.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And our spirits must have become like unto him, and we become devils, angels to a devil, to be shut out from the presence of our God, and to remain with the father of lies, in misery, like unto himself&#8230;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>When he says we would become like the devil, does Jacob mean in the sense that we will not have a body, or does he mean an actually change comes over us so we become like Satan?<\/p>\n<p>Jacob says we would become devils. This causes me to ponder what exactly a devil is. It would seem to me that a propensity of evil does not a devil make if we would become devil. We would be without physical bodies, so that may be a characteristic of a devil. as well, according to Jacob, we would be miserable, so misery could also be a characteristic of being a devil. Beyond being spirits and miserable, in what other ways are we similar to th devil?
