There are a few there that are fairly obvious answers. Such as the motherhood-priesthood parallel. I always wondered why Motherhood was such a blessing, yet Fatherhood was not equally so. Are Fathers not important? Same with going on missions and being able to call on Mother’s Day but not Father’s Day. I think there needs to be a shift in seeing the value and importance of being a Father. After all, we are taught that children need both a Mother and Father, right?

So if there was a Motherhood-Fatherhood parallel, then it logically follows that there would then be a Priesthood-Priestesshood parallel. Obviously if the Priesthood was to be available to women, it does not have to entail the same duties and responsibilities. Early women in the church were given the ability to perform blessings and healing. If women are indeed nurturing, then why are they not nurturing enough to be able to bless their babies and heal their children. After all, when a child gets injured or sick, who do they often run to first?

Now, will anything change in the church? Who knows. I have faith that we will know all things one day. I also have faith that things can change, if they are meant to, as that is the point in having a prophet to give new revelations. It changed with Polygamy, it changed with Blacks, it could possibly change with Women.
