Why don’t women have this role? I don’t know. But I don’t know why women would envy men’s holding the priesthood. If you equate priesthood power as and ability to promote your agenda the you don’t get D&C 121. The priesthood is about putting your agenda aside and replacing it with Gods. Women exhibit similar selflessness in motherhood.

That said… men and women are different… and men and women can not achieve exaltation independently. Neither sex or sex role is superior.

Sadly, much of our practice here on earth has been unfair to women. I don’t think most earthly practices will continue in heaven.
