We often forget to be thankful for the simple things.

I was called in a family ward.

I was the youngest in the quorum, and several brethren were old enough to be my father.

At first, I felt out of place, but the brethren were really supportive.

I know this is off topic, sorry.

I have read some of your posts concerning being the EQP. I appreciate your thoughts and input about your reflections on your calling. I would like some advice, perhaps you could post on this subject, it seems a good subject for discussion.

I noticed you had served initially as EQP years ago. How old were you when first called? Were you called in a regular ward (as opposed to a singles or student ward)? If so, were you significantly or at least noticeably younger than others in the quorum? If so, was it uncomfortable or difficult to be noticeably younger and yet the EQP? I was recently called to be the EQP in a newly reconfigured ward. The new population of the ward is even older than the last (however, mostly because we have a HUGE HP group), the active elders quorum is rather small and has a variety of elders in it. I feel I am up to the task but wonder if there will be challenges because of my age and especially my perceived age. I am only 26, but more challenging is I literally look 19.

Thank you for your response,

J

I don’t know if you remember a ditty I used to say when you guys were little and you would say “can you give me?…” and I would say give me give me never gets don’t you know your manners yet?

It is humbling to be thankful. I am proud of you for recognizing this
