(This is a setup to ask you if Nephi’s method is the best way to go about it).

But nevertheless, I admit, it’s only implied and doesn’t actually say, “the ship was one of the great things”.

But if that’s the case, then Nephi doesn’t actually tell us what was so great about the things he learned. We are stuck just taking his word for it.

I would like to say that’s where Philo Taylor Farnsworth got his idea for the television, but at only 14 years, maybe that’s unlikely. (Also I’m just assuming he was Mormon because of where he grew up).

Any other examples besides Nephi’s ship?

I guess it depends on what we deem as “great”, too. Or what Nephi meant by “”great”.

if we want to learn great things, we too should pray often and go to the mountain

Can you honestly say you wouldn’t have more luck at a University?

Too bad we can’t do that today without taking up a few hours of proxy work first.
