That’s embarrassing. Mexico’s armed forces are better than Canada’s?
Say it ain’t so.
It must put a lot of weight on number of troops. Mexico has 24 million while Canada has 8 million. At the same time, Canada spends nearly 10 million dollars on military, while spends 6 million dollars.
Given that the population of Mexico is more than three times that of Canada, it’s not surprising it has more personnel.
An interesting fact is that for both countries roughly 1 out of every four citizens is in the military. Same goes for the United States.
Yeah. I think this ranking means little in the real world. If’n it came to a country defending me, I think I’d rather it be the Canadians.
I’m surprised we’re in the top twenty considering all the constantly-in-war states around the world.
I can’t believe we beat North Korea…

What if it was FRENCH Canadians?
Don’t you mean FREEDOM Canadians?
>What if it was FRENCH Canadians?
Sue for peace?
BTW, who are the two idjits who believe that America “orchestrated” the WTC attacks?
Kim,
Canada does not have 8 million troops.
George,
There is a part of the Canadian Army that is French, and I would stack them up against any army any day of the week. They are great soldiers.
As an aside, George, my Dad was in the Canadian army in WWII, and was in the group that had to step aside after conquering most of Italy so that your boys could march into Rome as the conquering heroes. Don’t mock our army, French or otherwise.
Correct, the number I was quoting was available military manpower. I guess that would be potential troops.

That would be “eejits”.
Yes George, do not mock our army. Actually, in history you will find Canadian troops to be well respected and for good reason. And we were in World War II for the long haul.
French or English Canadians, we are all Canadian.
I thank the Canada for being one of the few countries that stood by America’s side in upholding the United Nations resolution in Korea. Not many of the “united nations” did.

Just so long as they aren’t defending Paris, I suppose.
tortdog,
The French we talk about in Canada are from Quebec. Yours are from Louisiana.
It’s the French politicians in France that screw everything up. The French themselves provided tremendous support for the Allied troops in WWII with their underground forces.
The French elite are among the worst in the world for having no principles and using their influence to maintain their status, without giving a hoot for the common French man.
