I lose patience with people who place great importance on things like having all the deacons stand at precisely the same instant, or having the accompanist continue playing the hymn after the congregation has stopped singing because the priests haven’t finished breaking the bread, or the like. They seem to be treating the ordinance as a kind of show, with showbiz production values paramount. I don’t think the congregation is harmed by a few moments of silence while the priests finish breaking bread. I don’t think it distracts anyone from contemplation of the Atonement if the deacons walk, stand and sit in a natural way.
