When you eat properly, exercise, take care of your body, hence following the words of wisdom, your body will take care of you.
]]>So, you don’t think we will receive health in the navel, marrow to the bones, etc, as a result of obeying he commandments?
“smoking which causes lung cancer, by consuming alcohol which causes liver cancer”
Did you mean “smoking which [may cause] lung cancer, by consuming alcohol which [may cause] liver cancer”? After all, smoking is no absolute guaranteed way to get lung cancer. Many people have never smoked in their life and die of lung cancer, and many people have smoked for several decades and never get lung cancer. Same goes for alcohol consumption and liver cancer.
“When you eat properly, exercise, take care of your body, hence following the words of wisdom”
Where does the Word of Wisdom mention exercise?
]]>And yes I did mean “MAY” cause cancer if you smoke or drink.
Obeying the Words of Wisdom is the only doctrine (although I am sure I am using an incorrect term) that states that by following it you will receive health.
But that doesn’t mean that if you follow the Words of Wisdom but none of the other laws that you will be fine either.
For tithing as in 3 Nephi 24 it states “Bring ye all the a tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house; and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows• of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
doesn’t say health or marrow there.. now I haven’t found any specific blessings of what happens if you don’t steal :)
]]>No it doesn’t. It’s a blessing that we will have physical endurance. It is not an admonition fr us to exercise.
“For tithing as in 3 Nephi 24…doesn’t say health or marrow there”
That’s because it says it in D&C 89, as I said in my post.
]]>No. I don’t think that I was saying I wanted Him to. At least not anywhere I read in my post or subsequent comments.
I did mention, however, that I wondered why more members don’t tout the health benefits afforded to all commandments as specified in the last verses of D&C 89.
